Dental Implants – FAQs
Will implants really help my confidence, not just my teeth?
Many patients tell us missing teeth affect how freely they smile and eat, not just how their teeth look. Dr. Madhur has helped hundreds of Melbourne patients restore both function and confidence over 15+ years — your consultation will focus on what matters most to you.
Can I get results like the before-and-afters on your site?
Every case is different. That’s why we start with a full assessment — 3D scan, smile design and a trial smile where relevant — so you know what’s realistically achievable for you before any treatment begins.
Who actually places my implant?
Dr. Madhur Shiralkar, our Principal Dentist, personally performs both your implant surgery and crown fitting. He holds a postgraduate implant qualification from the University of Sydney and has 15+ years of experience across simple to complex cases.
I'm nervous about dental treatment — do you offer sedation?
Yes. We offer in-house sleep/sedation dentistry with a trusted specialist anaesthetist, so you can be fully asleep during treatment if that helps you feel comfortable.
How long does the whole process take?
Typically 3–5 months from placement to final crown, as your jawbone needs time to fuse with the implant (3–4 months), followed by 2–4 weeks to create your crown. If bone or sinus grafting is needed, this can add 4–6 months.
How long do implants last?
Implants have a success rate of over 90%. Like natural teeth, they need good oral hygiene and regular check-ups — we recommend six-monthly visits to keep yours healthy long-term.
What should I know about risks before deciding?
As with any dental procedure, there are risks, which your dentist should explain clearly before you proceed. We recommend choosing a dentist with substantial implant experience who can show real patient results and uses reputable implant systems and labs — all of which we’re happy to discuss openly at your consultation.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes — flexible payment plans and, where eligible, early super access, to help spread the cost. We’ll go through your options at your free consultation.
What if I need it done quickly, e.g. a broken front tooth?
In some cases, we can place an “immediate implant” at the same time a tooth is removed, reducing your overall treatment time. Whether this suits you depends on your individual situation — best assessed in person.

A free, no-obligation consultation is the easiest way to get clear answers — what treatment suits you, what it will cost, and what to expect. No pressure, ever.
